Best Zippered Waterproof Crib Mattress Cover of 2026

Diaper leaks, spit-up, and spills can reach a crib mattress before you can change the sheets, so a secure waterproof layer can save hassle during nighttime cleanups. The best zippered waterproof crib mattress cover should fully enclose the mattress, fit its dimensions and depth, and stay quiet beneath a fitted sheet. These products are protectors, not comfort-layer mattress toppers: they don’t add meaningful cushioning, change firmness, or correct sagging.

We reviewed the listed product specifications for fit, closure, waterproof claims, fabric details, and care instructions. Options here include a breathable micro-weave surface, a cotton terry top, and quiet knitted fabrics, with different mattress-depth limits. Check your crib mattress measurements before ordering, since a cover that’s too tight may be difficult to install and excess fabric can bunch. FAQs

Does a zippered crib mattress cover protect all sides?

Yes, the four covers listed are designed as full encasements. Their zipper closures surround the mattress, while the waterproof barriers are described as protecting against liquids and everyday messes. Follow the product instructions to close and secure the zipper fully.

How do I choose the right crib mattress cover size?

Match both the mattress length and width, then check its depth against the cover’s stated limit. The Four Seasons Essentials option is listed for a 28-by-52-by-6-inch mattress, SureGuard fits up to 6 to 8 inches deep, and Utopia Bedding fits up to 7 inches deep. Confirm the exact product listing before purchase.

Are zippered waterproof crib covers noisy?

The listed options describe their surfaces as soft or noiseless, and Utopia Bedding specifies a non-crinkling knitted polyester fabric. That can help avoid noticeable rustling beneath a sheet, though the feel may vary by mattress and sheet combination.

Can I machine-wash a waterproof crib mattress encasement?

Yes, all four product descriptions state that the covers are machine washable. Sealy Baby also describes its cover as dryer friendly, while Utopia Bedding specifies tumble drying on low heat. Follow the care label for the exact wash and drying instructions.

Does a crib mattress protector add cushioning or fix sagging?

No, these encasements are designed to protect the mattress, not add topper-like pressure relief or support. A waterproof cover won’t correct a sagging or damaged mattress. For comfort changes, compare actual pressure-relief mattress topper features separately.

Which cover offers protection from bed bugs and allergens?

The SureGuard and Utopia Bedding descriptions claim bed bug protection, and SureGuard also highlights protection from dust, dirt, and dander. SureGuard lists a cotton terry top and GREENGUARD Gold certification; check the product details for current specifications and care guidance.

Will a zippered cover keep the mattress from shifting?

A full encasement surrounds the mattress and may help keep the protector itself in place beneath a fitted sheet. It doesn’t attach the mattress to the crib, so check the fit and follow the crib and mattress manufacturers’ safety instructions.
