Spills can soak into a crib mattress before you notice
A quiet, secure mattress cover can make nighttime changes and cleanup less of a hassle. The best waterproof crib mattress protector should help shield the mattress from common moisture while fitting snugly and staying comfortable beneath the crib sheet. This roundup compares two fitted options by their stated materials, dimensions, waterproof layers, care instructions, and other listed features, so you can focus on practical differences rather than assumptions.
Biloban’s protector uses a microfiber surface, quilted absorbent filling, a moisture-wicking layer, and a waterproof TPU backing. Newton Baby highlights a quilted 3-D spacer design above its waterproof layer, plus a fitted skirt and GREENGUARD Gold certification. Both are listed for standard 52-by-28-inch crib mattresses, but their designs and price points differ. Neither product listing specifies a thickness measurement, so don’t treat either as a foam topper or expect it to change mattress firmness or provide the pressure relief associated with a mattress topper.
Check your mattress dimensions and the protector’s fit before ordering, then follow the care label to protect the waterproof barrier. If a cover shifts on the bed, this guide to keeping a mattress layer from sliding covers related fit considerations. For a broader look at comfort layers, see our pressure-relief topper review. FAQs
Which of these protectors fits a standard crib mattress?
Both are listed for a standard 52-by-28-inch crib mattress. Biloban states its deep skirt fits mattresses up to 9 inches high, while Newton Baby describes a universal fitted skirt. Measure your mattress and check product details for the fit you need.
Does a waterproof crib protector add cushioning like a topper?
No, these products are mattress protectors, not foam toppers. Biloban describes quilted filling for a padded feel, and Newton Baby lists a 3-D spacer design, but neither listing provides a thickness measurement or claims to change mattress firmness or support.
Can I machine-wash these crib mattress covers?
Yes, both product listings describe machine washing. Biloban also says the protector can be dryer-dried or air-dried; follow the care label for either product to help maintain its waterproof layer.
Which option highlights airflow and a safety certification?
Newton Baby lists a quilted 3-D spacer design intended to support airflow and states that the pad is GREENGUARD Gold Certified. Those are manufacturer-provided product details, not independent comparisons in this review.
Will either protector stop every leak from reaching the mattress?
Both listings describe waterproof protection, but no protector should be treated as a guarantee against every spill or fit issue. Use the correct size, secure the fitted skirt, and check the care instructions so the barrier is maintained.
For 2026, compare the listed fit, construction, and care needs of each Best Waterproof Crib Mattress Protector option before buying. If you’re also considering a separate bed comfort layer, this overview of topper features for pressure relief covers a different type of product.
