Best Water Proof Mattress Protector of 2026
Best water proof mattress protector picks for quieter, cleaner sleep, with practical fit and care details to compare. Updated November 2026.

A spill can seep through sheets before you notice, and a noisy, loose-fitting cover can turn a simple layer of protection into a nightly annoyance. These picks focus on the details that matter: waterproof barriers, quiet fabrics, mattress depth, and care instructions. A protector isn’t a mattress topper, though. It won’t add inches of cushioning, change firmness, or correct pressure points at the hips and shoulders. It can help keep a mattress cleaner, which is useful in a guest room, a shared bed, or a dorm setup where accidents and frequent washing are practical concerns.
For this best water proof mattress protector roundup, product specifications guide the comparison, not claims of hands-on testing. The six options include BEDLORE’s quilted queen protectors, PlushDeluxe bamboo-viscose styles in three sizes, and a quiet, breathable SafeRest queen cover. Check the listed bed size and mattress depth before buying: several options fit mattresses up to 18 inches deep, but the size still needs to match your bed. If a separate comfort layer is your real goal, explore these pressure-relieving mattress topper options. A shifting layer has different fit issues, covered in this guide to keeping a mattress topper in place.

FAQs
Will a waterproof mattress protector make my bed softer?
No, a protector is a barrier, not a cushioning mattress topper. The listed options don’t specify foam thickness or pressure-relieving materials, so they shouldn’t be expected to soften a firm bed or improve spinal alignment. Choose a separate comfort layer if pressure relief is the priority.
Which protectors fit a mattress up to 18 inches deep?
BEDLORE’s queen protectors and the PlushDeluxe full, queen, and king versions list a fit for mattresses up to 18 inches deep. Confirm your mattress size and depth against the product listing before ordering. A deep-pocket fit matters for keeping the cover smooth and secure.
Are these waterproof mattress protectors noisy?
The BEDLORE descriptions call the fabric noiseless, and PlushDeluxe describes its protector as silent with no crinkling sound. SafeRest is described as quiet and breathable. These are product claims, so check current listing details if noise sensitivity is a deciding factor.
Can I machine wash these mattress protectors?
Yes, the provided details say all three brands’ protectors are machine washable. BEDLORE recommends tumble drying on low and says not to iron or bleach; SafeRest specifies a cold wash and tumble drying. Follow the care label for the exact model, since instructions can vary.
Does a waterproof protector fix a sagging mattress?
No, a mattress protector won’t repair sagging or restore support. It helps shield the mattress from liquids and stains, while a topper may offer some surface cushioning but cannot reliably correct a deeply sagging support core. Compare options for back-support mattress toppers if comfort is the issue.
Does bamboo fabric mean a protector will keep me cool?
Not necessarily. PlushDeluxe describes its bamboo-viscose fabric and membrane as breathable and moisture-wicking, but no measured cooling results are provided. If you sleep hot, consider that claim alongside your sheets, mattress, and room temperature rather than treating a protector as a cooling mattress pad.
