Soft foam can cushion sore shoulders, but too much sink can leave your spine out of line
A plush surface can feel inviting at bedtime, yet the right pressure relief still needs to come with steady support beneath your hips and lower back. This roundup of the best ultra soft memory foam mattress focuses on the details that matter after the first night: foam construction, airflow features, motion isolation, edge stability, safety certifications, and the length of each sleep trial. The listed choices are all queen-size, all-foam beds, but their feel and support features differ, so “soft” shouldn’t be assumed to mean the same thing across the group.
After carefully analyzing the available product specifications, we found a range of tradeoffs worth weighing. The Grbsy option is described as medium-firm rather than ultra-soft, while Amazon Basics specifically lists a soft plush feel. Novilla’s two models highlight gel memory foam and pressure relief, with one also listing reinforced edge support. Certifications and return terms vary, too, so check the current seller details before ordering. If you need a more elevated surface for stomach sleeping, compare these picks with our mattress options for stomach sleepers. For more bed feel comparisons, see this foam mattress comfort guide.

FAQs
Are these mattresses all ultra-soft?
No. Amazon Basics describes its mattress as soft and plush, while Grbsy describes its 14-inch model as medium-firm. The Novilla listings emphasize contouring and pressure relief but do not provide a firmness number on the standard 1-to-10 scale. If you need a very soft feel, confirm the current firmness details before buying.
Which options may help with shoulder and hip pressure?
Novilla’s two mattresses use NanoGel memory foam designed to contour and distribute pressure. Grbsy lists cooling gel and copper foam plus seven-zone support, while Amazon Basics uses a memory-foam top layer. Side sleepers should consider whether the mattress also keeps the waist and hips supported, since a plush feel alone does not guarantee neutral spinal alignment.
Will gel foam keep me cool all night?
Not necessarily. Gel foam, breathable knit covers, open-cell foam, and airflow channels are features intended to manage heat, but individual comfort depends on the room, bedding, and sleeper. Grbsy lists an IceSilk cover and open-cell layers; the Novilla models describe breathable knit covers and gel foam. These features are not a guarantee against night sweats.
Do these foam mattresses isolate partner movement?
Memory foam is designed to absorb movement, and the Novilla listings specifically describe motion isolation. Grbsy also describes layered foam intended to reduce movement and noise. None of the supplied details includes measured motion-transfer results, so couples should treat these as construction claims rather than guaranteed performance.
Are the mattresses certified, and are they fiberglass-free?
The supplied details list CertiPUR-US certification for all four options, with OEKO-TEX also listed for Novilla Queen Mattress 12 Inch and the Amazon Basics cover. Grbsy explicitly describes its mattress as fiberglass-free; the other listings do not specify fire-barrier materials. Check the product’s current materials information if fiberglass-free construction is a deciding factor.
How long do these mattresses take to expand, and what trial is offered?
Expansion guidance ranges from a few hours for Grbsy to up to 72 hours for Novilla and Amazon Basics. Novilla Bliss lists a 100-day trial and 10-year protection, while Grbsy lists a 365-night trial and 10-year warranty. Review the current seller terms for return conditions, warranty coverage, and any foundation requirements before placing your order.
