Protect your mattress without adding crinkle or fuss
A spill or nighttime accident can leave a mattress stained, while a noisy cover can make every turn feel disruptive. A waterproof protector adds a barrier without the height or feel changes of a foam topper, so it won’t soften a rock-hard bed or correct sagging. This guide to the best washable mattress protector waterproof options focuses on practical differences: fabric feel, liquid protection, pocket depth, and care instructions.
Product specifications show a mix of quilted BEDLORE covers, bamboo-viscose PlushDeluxe protectors, and a terry-top SPRINGSPIRIT option. Each is described as waterproof and machine washable, but fit and drying directions still matter. Measure your mattress, including any mattress topper already on the bed, before ordering; the BEDLORE and PlushDeluxe models fit mattresses up to 18 inches deep. For a separate look at comfort layers, see our guide to pressure-relieving mattress toppers, or compare ways to address a cover that shifts in our advice on keeping a mattress topper stable.

FAQs
Can a waterproof mattress protector make a firm bed softer?
No, a protector is a thin protective layer, not a cushioning mattress topper. Quilting or a soft surface fabric may change the hand-feel slightly, but it won’t provide the pressure relief of a 2-inch or 3-inch foam layer. For a hard bed, consider a topper separately and check that the protector’s pocket depth fits over both layers.
Which protector fits a thick mattress or mattress topper?
BEDLORE and PlushDeluxe list a fit for mattresses up to 18 inches deep. Measure the mattress and any topper together before buying, since extra height can make a fitted skirt pull loose. SPRINGSPIRIT lists standard mattress sizes and a strong elastic fit, but its provided details don’t state a maximum depth.
Are bamboo mattress protectors cooler for hot sleepers?
PlushDeluxe describes its bamboo-viscose surface and membrane as breathable and moisture-wicking, with heat regulation. That is a manufacturer feature claim, not a measured cooling result, so sleepers sensitive to warmth should keep expectations realistic. BEDLORE also describes its fabric as breathable, but no temperature data is provided.
Can I machine wash these waterproof mattress covers?
Yes, all listed options are described as machine washable. BEDLORE recommends tumble drying on low and says not to iron or bleach; SPRINGSPIRIT also specifies low tumble drying. Follow the care label for the exact model, as high heat or harsh treatment may affect the waterproof backing.
Which option is suitable for spills, pets, or incontinence?
All six products are described as waterproof, with TPU backing specified for BEDLORE and SPRINGSPIRIT. PlushDeluxe states that its waterproof membrane resists spills and bodily fluids and mentions use with pets and incontinence. Check the current product listing and care label for exact protection and cleaning details before purchase.
