Protect your king mattress without adding a noisy layer
A spill can soak through sheets fast, while a stiff, crinkly cover can make a comfortable bed feel less inviting. The best waterproof mattress protector super king should balance a dependable liquid barrier with a quiet, comfortable surface, and it needs to fit the mattress depth without bunching beneath your sheets. The options here are king-size protectors rather than foam overlays, so they protect the mattress but won’t change its firmness, add pressure relief to sore hips and shoulders, or correct a sagging sleep surface.
We reviewed the listed specifications, including fabric, pocket depth, closure style, care instructions, and manufacturer claims, to help you compare useful differences before buying. PlushDeluxe and NORTHERNFARE list fits up to 18 inches deep, while Utopia Bedding’s zippered encasement fits mattresses up to 15 inches deep. If your main concern is a cover that shifts, this guide to keeping a mattress layer stable covers related fit issues. For added cushioning rather than spill protection, browse this pressure-relief mattress topper overview. Match the protector to your mattress measurements and sleep priorities, then check current product details before ordering.

FAQs
Will a waterproof mattress protector make a king bed feel hotter?
Not necessarily, but fabric and construction can affect how the surface feels. PlushDeluxe describes a breathable bamboo fabric and moisture-wicking membrane, while NORTHERNFARE lists a Tencel top designed to wick heat and moisture. These are product claims, not a guarantee that every hot sleeper will stay cool.
How do I choose a king protector for a thick mattress?
Measure your mattress depth, including any pillow top, and compare it with the listed pocket size. PlushDeluxe and NORTHERNFARE state a fit up to 18 inches, whereas the Utopia Bedding zippered protector fits up to 15 inches deep. Check dimensions before purchasing to reduce slipping or a strained fit.
Can these mattress protectors relieve back pain or soften a firm bed?
No, a waterproof protector is a thin protective layer, not a cushioning mattress topper. It won’t provide meaningful pressure relief, change firmness, or fix sagging that affects spinal alignment. If comfort is your priority, consider a mattress topper for added cushioning separately.
Is a zippered mattress protector better than a fitted style?
A zippered encasement covers the mattress on all sides, while fitted styles cover the top and wrap around the edges. Utopia Bedding lists a wrap-around zipper and 360-degree coverage, which may suit shoppers seeking full encasement. Check the depth limit and follow the installation instructions for a secure fit.
Can I machine-wash a waterproof king mattress protector?
Yes, the listed care details identify machine washing for all four options, but drying instructions differ. SafeRest specifies cold washing and tumble drying, while Utopia Bedding advises low-heat tumble drying; NORTHERNFARE describes its protector as machine washable and dryer safe. Follow the care label to help protect the waterproof layer.
Are these protectors silent and suitable for sensitive sleepers?
Product descriptions for PlushDeluxe, NORTHERNFARE, and Utopia Bedding describe quiet or non-crinkling construction, and NORTHERNFARE also identifies its cover as hypoallergenic. SafeRest describes its protector as quiet and breathable. Sensitivity varies, so check the materials and product information before buying.
