Protect your mattress without adding unwanted heat
A mattress protector can help shield a bed from spills and everyday wear, but it shouldn’t make your sleep surface feel noisy or stuffy. If you’re searching for the best wool mattress protector waterproof, there’s a key detail to know: neither product here is described as wool. The PlushDeluxe is a bamboo-fabric waterproof protector, while the Whisper Organics option is a quilted organic cotton mattress pad with no waterproof claim in the supplied details.
That distinction matters if you need dependable spill protection, a softer feel, or a more breathable layer over a firm mattress. The PlushDeluxe specifies a quiet fit on mattresses up to 18 inches deep and protection against liquids, while the Whisper Organics description emphasizes smooth organic cotton and year-round breathability. Neither listing provides a topper thickness, so don’t expect either to change firmness or add substantial cushioning for sore hips and shoulders. After carefully analyzing the listed materials and features, these look like mattress-protection and surface-comfort choices, not wool toppers or substantial pressure-relief overlays. For help with a shifting sleep layer, see this guide to keeping a mattress topper from sliding.
The best waterproof mattress protector for your bed depends on whether liquid resistance is essential or natural-fiber comfort comes first. Check your mattress dimensions and fitted-sheet depth before ordering, especially if your bed is tall. You can compare these picks with other mattress topper and bedding options, but remember that a protector won’t repair deep sagging or correct poor spinal support. The notes below focus on what the product descriptions actually confirm, so you can match the cover to your needs without assuming features that aren’t listed.

FAQs
Are either of these protectors made of wool?
No, neither product is described as wool. PlushDeluxe uses bamboo fabric, and Whisper Organics is a 100% organic cotton quilted mattress pad. If a wool mattress protector is a must-have, these listings don’t meet that material requirement.
Which option is waterproof?
The PlushDeluxe protector is described as 100% waterproof. Its product details say it resists spills and bodily fluids, while the Whisper Organics description does not state that it has a waterproof barrier. Choose based on whether liquid protection is essential rather than assuming both covers offer it.
Will the PlushDeluxe protector fit a deep Queen mattress?
Yes, the listed Queen size measures 60 by 80 inches and fits mattresses up to 18 inches deep. Check your mattress depth before buying, then confirm your fitted sheet has enough pocket depth to cover both the mattress and protector.
Can either product soften a firm bed or relieve hip pressure?
No substantial cushioning is specified for either option. The PlushDeluxe is a protector, and the Whisper Organics product is a quilted mattress pad, but neither listing gives a thickness or foam core that would support a clear firmness-change claim. For pressure relief, look for a dedicated topper with a stated thickness and material; this pressure-relief topper comparison may help with that search.
Does the bamboo cover make the PlushDeluxe silent?
The product description says the protector is completely silent, with no crinkling sound. It also highlights a breathable membrane intended to wick moisture and regulate heat, but individual comfort can vary. The details don’t provide measured cooling results.
Can I machine-wash these mattress covers?
The supplied product details don’t specify washing instructions for either cover. Check the care label or current product listing before washing, since waterproof layers and quilted cotton may have different cleaning requirements. Don’t assume either has a removable, washable cover unless the seller confirms it.
